9 Focal length and angle of view

3 to 10 photographs :

Finding an interesting subject for the practice of focal length. The task to take a subject using a long focal length lens and the from the same distance the use of a wide angle lens.
Most subjects I found were quite common, Walking along the sea front passing the wet market . I stood to take in this everyday event. Changed to my 28-135 lens. Taking the over all depth to what is the theme sewing repair . All men . Then moving in mid way to the final shot focusing on the first Machinist in the foreground, closing in, and framing just him, and his work tool.

F5.6
1/80sec
Wide angle at 28mm

F7.1
1/25sec
60mm mid focal length of the lens

Fully extended the 28-135 lens at 135mm

Colour plays a good focal point as warm yellow and soft light. Slightly contrasting with the white material. As the long focus separates the rest of what is going on. Framing and making the shot more simple, capturing the mood.
As you can see from analysing the setting, the use of a zoom, or if I had WA and Telephoto. Some times moving in close to a subject can often spoil the mood.
In Malaysia its difficult to capture people naturally, as most tend to do a silly pose.
Using the zoom or Telephoto Flattens the depth but also pulls the main setting in close, making the main image dominant.
