6 Fitting the frame to the subject and crop.

Fitting the frame.:  Exercise: fitting the frame where to put and compose the subject.

Early morning.  Down to the bus station. Just out from the golf course is a a place of less malaysian confusion. Here I found a boat, turning in the current, Finding the right angle as to obscure the clutter and junk that lays around in the part of the world.
This subject is :
Malaysian Fishing boat

As you can see as I zoomed in closer to the subject. A different story emerges. The boat seems more intimidating losing its restful charm.

This may work for some subjects but not this one. If the boat had a fisherman doing something, then the last picture would have had some meaning.

Cropping: L frame and digital crop

I use black card to frame normally as I can change the size of the aperture. However the land scape was cropped in Aperture 2

Cropping:
Taking parts of what you see. One of the key things in photography is knowing what makes up the picture. And the Elements that bring the image together. A Theme , Subject, point of view and composition, mood, lighting. When all these elements come together. you have a good picture. Here I chose a picture taken at Bridge North. UK It has, as a hole, no real point of view. As a land scape, its a pleasing picture with margin for talk.

Looking at the original above. The tree dominates the photograph being foremost in the for ground. The eye comes to rest in the middle of the picture in the river!
Although framing the picture with the bank and the tree, is giving a triangle composition. Taking the left side off the tree, balances the image more. The eye then leads through to the back of the picture. Making the Bridge the point of focus.

Here, heavy cropping again giving a triangle strong left to right composition.

the eye tends to lead from the bottom over hanging tree through to the right far arch.

In this crop more sky is added, making a more Right bottom to middle left over to the arch view. To much dominant for ground, with no meaning or interest. Its a river bank!

This crop more of the right side has ben included and less sky. Although the river bank is still included.
The mind rests with the balance of the far right
buildings

To the extreme. Excluding most of the bridge, focusing on the town. Draws away the picturesque quality, losing the depth in the picture.  The beauty of the Bridge that is the main feature of Bridge North.

Lastly The Land scape crop.
A pleasing composition, but lacking Depth. However' the elements of the picture are OK But its obvious that the foreground is lacking. Therefore losing depth.
